Head of Procurement Operations and Enablement, London Fire Brigade
Gary is a seasoned procurement leader and CIPS Fellow, with a deep expertise in digital transformation, and procurement strategy. With a 35 year+ career spanning public and private sectors, he has successfully led large-scale procurement transformations, embedding cutting-edge technology to drive efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.
As Head of Procurement Operations and Enablement at London Fire Brigade, Gary is spearheading the implementation of SAP Ariba, establishing a Centre of Excellence for procurement. His approach is rooted in the Harmony Loop - a framework he developed to balance automation, human expertise, and ethical decision-making in procurement.
Gary is passionate about the intersection of AI and procurement, advocating for a human-in-the-loop approach to ensure technology enhances, rather than replaces, human judgment.
Beyond procurement, Gary’s leadership philosophy is shaped by resilience and adaptability, and his unwavering commitment to fairness, equity, and innovation.
