Event Details

How transparent is your supply chain? Do you have full end to end traceability? Hear important lessons from Europe where companies are at the forefront of balancing national goals with regulatory obligations. Delegates will hear how leading EU companies are already adapting their procurement, supply chain, and sustainability practices to satisfy the emerging regulatory and trade environment.

Event Outline

EUDR, DPP, US FLPA, CS3D, US FSMA etc: A view from Europe on how the new wave of

regulations are impacting procurement, supply chains and sustainability. The EU is at the forefront of a global drive to turn sustainability goals into regulatory obligations, driving global supply chains towards an extended duty of vigilance. To meet these new obligations, organisations will need to implement reliable end-to-end traceability of their goods as a de facto « licence to operate » in key markets. On one hand these shifts will have a disruptive impact on the organization of value chains, but on the other they will also open new avenues for market differentiation based on more sustainable, and eventually more resilient, supply chains.

While the UK is currently a laggard in this space, these developments in our largest trading partners will have huge implications for UK-based organisations. In this talk Matthieu Hug, a French expert in the field of Supply Chain Traceability, will explain how leading EU companies are already adapting their procurement, supply chain, and sustainability practices to satisfy the emerging regulatory and trade environment, giving UK attendees a global perspective whilst simultaneously providing the opportunity to get ahead of the curve by understanding how to prepare for the coming wave of change.

Event Format

A short presentation followed by group round table discussions about how the information shared might play out for the delegates’ own workplace activities. There is no doubt that delegates can expect valuable lessons and takeaways that can be applied in Wales which will better prepare us for changes in procurement, supply chain, affecting all sustainability professionals.

Who is the Event for

The event is relevant for planners, leaders (buy and supply sides) whose interest is on sustainable supply chain management and supply chain design. We hope to attract leaders from a wide range of industry sectors for this hot topic. The breakfast event is an opportunity to hear a different perspective from a region which is ahead of us in Wales in terms of building traceability in supply chains.
