Leading Procurement Transformation Projects: Key Approach & Considerations  

A Procurement career that has spanned 30 years across both the public and private sectors in UK, European and Global roles including CPO and senior leadership positions at the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), and in Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Trade Exhibition Events and the Airline and Travel industry where he was Group Head of Airline Procurement for 6 years at the World’s largest leisure business TUI Travel Group based in Germany. David has also served in a range of senior civil servant (SCS) roles At Director and Deputy Director level in Central Government with the Government Commercial Organisation (GCO) for several years leading major procurement teams and projects at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the Department for Health & Social Care (DHSC). As well as leading and developing best practice functions covering most categories of expenditure, David has particular strengths in transformation, stakeholder engagement, collaborative procurement, shared services, complex and strategic high value high risk projects, mergers and acquisitions and a passion and first-class track record for building and developing high performing teams delivering a high-quality, value add trusted professional procurement customer service. A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), David is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) and outside of work enjoys travel, good food and wine, cricket, rugby and squash. He also has a significant interest in Fire Service history and fire engine preservation as a member of the Fire Brigade Society (FBS) and the Fire Service Preservation Group (FSPG) and owns a couple of retired former operational fire engines which have been fully restored to their former glory
