Procurement and sustainability are two sides of the same coin driving towards a NetZero future.

Sustainability and Procurement in the Housing Sector

Sanctuary is a not-for-profit provider of housing, care and support with over 125,000 homes across the country. As Group Director - Sustainability and Climate Change, Donna Williams is responsible for leading Sanctuary’s transition to net zero carbon by 2050 as well as the strategy for delivering social impact across the organisation. John Mills

Sustainability and Procurement in the Food sector

John has been working constantly in Procurement & Supply Chain for over 40 years with experience in both the Public & Private sectors. He has come up through the ranks from warehouse assistant, buyer, to Head of Procurement roles both in the NHS and Food

Manufacturing as well as Hotel Properties. Working throughout Europe in Food commodity

purchasing led him to his last role with a Norwegian conglomerate, where he was responsible

for their 10 x companies’ raw materials & packaging in the UK. The Scandinavian thrust into Sustainable Procurement led him into many ESG projects. Whilst he has now retired, he keeps his hand in with some consultancy work, for a company guiding students to achieve their CIPS qualification.

Emma Rothwell

Mettis Aerospace Ltd

When you step on an airplane to go on holiday do you consider how it arrived there ready to transport you and the other passengers?

With the world in the grip of a climate change crisis, the aerospace industry is constantly driven to explore new ways of reducing active carbon footprints, increasing efficiency through engine performance and reducing emissions.

Aerospace supply chains can be complex and elongated, so delivering components in a timebound and sustainable manner is more paramount than ever before. Emma will be revealing and explaining some of the challenges facing the aerospace industry from raw material shortages to sustainable packaging options and what goes into producing fuel efficient aircraft parts.

Emma is a procurement and supply chain professional with over eighteen years’ experience, specialising in transformational and disruptive procurement in highly regulated industries including medical and aerospace.

Emma has been Secretary for CIPS Hereford and Worcester Branch committee for the last two years and achieved MCIPS via the Advanced Practitioner route in 2020.  She is passionate about supplier relationship management and reducing contractual risks in the supply chain.
