CIPS ABS Biodiesel Visit 2024: Fuel Circularity

A guided factory tour and talk networking event to the theme of ‘Circular Economy – Fuel Circularity’.

ASB is working with Jardines to collect the waste oil from their food and beverage outlets and turn them into biodiesel. Through a fuel company, the biodiesel will be further processed and re-sell to other subsidiaries from Jardines for energy generation.

Simon Wong of Gammon Construction is invited to give us a talk on Fuel Circularity.

ASB will share with participants on the biodiesel production and their supply chain organization, including a guided tour at ASB Plant.

Aims of the event:

• Introduce biodiesel technologies and raise awareness of Circular Economy
• Provide an opportunity for visitors to experience Fuel Circulation ecosystem
  
• Promote circular economy as a pathway to fulfilling long-term ESG and SDG goals

Simon Wong MCIPS

Head of Procurement, Gammon Construction, Gammon Construction Limited

Simon Wong is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the procurement industry. He currently serves as the Head of Procurement in Gammon Construction Limited.

Simon began his career as a Procurement Assistant at Gammon Construction, demonstrating exceptional analytical skills and strategic thinking skills that paved the way for his rapid career progression. After several years, he took on the role of Procurement Manager where he honed his leadership skills and gained extensive experience in negotiation, supplier management, and risk management.

In 2023, Simon was promoted to the position of Head of Procurement. In this role, he has successfully led numerous cost-saving projects, established strategic supplier partnerships, and implemented innovative procurement processes

Victor Chong

Commercial Manager, ASB Biodiesel, ASB Biodiesel Limited

He is dynamic and motivated Sales Professional with over 15 years of experiences. Proven record of managing teams, generating, and building relationships, managing projects from concept to completion. Victor was the Team Head for Education, FMCG retail & manufacturing sectors, having worked as Head of Business Development for education bodies and advisory level to government policy development. The past 6 years as Head of Regional Sales in FMCG retail space. Currently, he is the Commercial Manager at ASB Biodiesel, where he leads a small team.

Jack Yeung

Sustainability Officer, ASB Biodiesel, ASB Biodiesel Limited

Jack is a nature lover and a sustainability professional with almost a decade of experience in the field. He has worked with both private and public sectors on a variety of green projects across Hong Kong and globally, including solar energy, autonomous vehicles, green-commerce, and sustainable consumer products. In 2021, he acquired his Master’s in Corporate Environmental Governance from the University of Hong Kong and is currently the Sustainability Officer at ASB-Biodiesel HK Ltd. where he is contributing to the renewable Gas & Oil industry, turning waste into energy.
