EVENT SPEAKERS

Dr. Canan Kocabasoglu Hillmer

Operations and Supply Chain Management, Bayes Business School

Dr Canan Kocabasoglu Hillmer’s research focuses on the drivers of effective collaboration between supply chain partners. She currently works on understanding the role of suppliers in managing supply chain risks and creating resilience. Funded by the Institute of Supply Management (ISM), her Ph.D. thesis at University at Buffalo investigated strategic sourcing and e-procurement practices in companies and their effect on supply chain performance. She was a board member for the Heartland Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) during her tenure at the University of Kansas. She regularly runs the operations and supply chain management courses for the Executive MBA programs and procurement courses for the MSc Digital Supply Chain Management.


Dr. Byung-Gak Son

Senior Lecturer in Supply Chain Management, Bayes Business School

Dr Son is a reader from Bayes Business School, City, University of London. He teaches a supply chain and operations management module for Bayes Business School. His main research interest is understanding the association between the structural characteristics of a firm’s supply network and its competitiveness. His work has been published in leading SCM/OM journals such as the Journal of Operations Management and Production and Operations Management. He has been a member of a Korean government advisory board on North Korean economic affairs and advising various Korean companies.
