GUEST SPEAKER - Mr Godfrey Rantshabeng

Mr. Godfrey Rantshabeng is a seasoned supply chain professional with over 18 years of experience in supply chain management.

He has notable experience in the mining sector, where he has held positions of Chief Standards Officer, Rotables and Repairs Manager and Quality & Standards Manager for Debswana Diamond Company.

Godfrey led the implementation of world class projects, such as Rotables and Repairs Project, which was aimed at enhancing the repair function of the business, improving the procurement of high value repair components, and developing local supplier capacity. Mr. Rantshabeng has been a key function lead in the Inventory Optimization Project and a key advocate for Citizen Economic Empowerment through procurement prospects.

Mr. Rantshabeng has also worked for De Beers Group of Companies, in Johannesburg, South Africa where he was the Supply Chain Centre Practitioner, looking after the supplier development and procurement of asset renewal services for the De Beers Group mines in South Africa and Namibia.

Godfrey is currently the Head of Supply Chain at Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board. His primary role is to optimize the organisation through modern glit-edge supply chain strategies to ensure sustainable food security of the country. The function includes responsible procurement, the management of storage facilities of over 200 000 MT of capacity, distribution and logistics, grain processing plants, and quality management systems. The function is also the custodian of the Government’s Strategic Grain Reserves.

Mr. Rantshabeng is currently a PhD candidate in Business Optimization with the University of Zambia. He holds a master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, BSc Degree in Supply Chain Management, and a couple of Diplomas, ranging from Procurement and Supply, Logistics, Engineering and Quality Management.
