Aimed at MCIPS Members, this event offers a unique opportunity to learn from well established Fellows of CIPS. Mentoring will be followed by Networking over drinks and nibbles.
Delivered by FCIPS members: Shirley Cooper OBE (FCMA, FCIPS, MBA); Ashley Cooke FCIPS (CS), FCMI, FRSA and Kobirul Islam FCIPS (CS), the event is structured as a short presentation on what it means to becoming a Fellow of the Institute. The presentation will be followed by a Speed Mentoring session made out of four 15 minutes meetings with 4 different Fellows in small groups. After a short recap of lessons learned and the FCIPS application process, the event will close with a networking session with the attendees.
Please note this event is exclusively for MCIPS. If you book to attend and you are not a current fully qualified CIPS Member, your booking will be cancelled.

The event will count towards CPD Credits for MCIPS and FCIPS.

Shirley Cooper OBE (FCMA, FCIPS, MBA)
Shirley is a successful business leader and entrepreneur with extensive experience gained in delivering financial, commercial, and operational leadership across the Private and Public Sectors. She has a portfolio of high-profile appointments and supports multiple Charities and Non-Profit organisations that drive economic development and have a social impact. Shirley was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2020 for services to Women’s Empowerment, Equality and Procurement.
Ashley Cooke (FCIPS(CS), FCMI, FRSA )
Ashley’s stellar career has seen him at the forefront of extensively used graphics and 3Dgraphics technology, finding himself at the vanguard of outsourcing and offshoring the manufacture of the GPU (graphics processing unit) as an industry standard.
He imparts his expertise to manoeuvre businesses from start-up to scale-up and creation of industries, mentoring senior executives globally.
Ashley sits on the CIPS Fellowship panel scrutinising submissions and is the Senior Standards Verifier for CIPS Level 4; a Senior Independent Verifier for the CIPS Procurement Excellence programme and a Senior Assessor for the management experiential route to membership and corporate award scheme.
Kobirul Islam (FCIPS (CS))
Kobirul is an award-winning procurement and supply chain professional with a portfolio of senior roles across sectors. He has delivered measurable outcomes in Investment Banking, Fashion, Higher-Education, Regeneration and Government. He currently works for the Cabinet Office, Government Commercial Organisation.
He’s a judge of the Government Opportunities National Procurement Awards and Co-Chairs for the Government Commercial Function Ethnic Minority Positive Support Group. He was presented with a Diversity and Inclusion award from the Chief Commercial Officer and was named a Top100 influential Muslim in the UK by EqualityX (2022). He’s committed to championing Wellbeing and Mental Health in the workplace.
