We are delighted to be joined by our guest speaker Gareth Rhys Williams, Government Chief Commercial Officer and Non-Executive Director, Crown Commercial Service (CCS) who is an experienced CEO and Non-Executive Director, with a consistent record of reinvigorating and reinventing listed and private equity backed companies through creative growth strategies. Hosted by Shirley Cooper OBE, Past President and Chair of CIPS UK Fellowship committee and Debbie Sorrell FCIPS.

Gareth Rhys Williams
Government Chief Commercial Officer, Cabinet Office
Gareth Rhys Williams was most recently Chief Executive Officer of PHS Group, a leading provider of outsourced workplace services in the UK. Gareth is an experienced CEO and Non Executive Director, with a consistent record of reinvigorating and reinventing listed and private equity backed companies through creative growth strategies. He has a strong record of driving transformational change in large, complex and federated organisations. Before joining PHS, Gareth was CEO of Charter International, the FTSE 250 engineering group, until its successful sale to Colfax Corporation in 2012. Prior to that, he was CEO of Capital Safety Group Ltd, since sold to KKR, and CEO of Vitec Group plc, the listed supplier of broadcast and photographic equipment and services.
Shirley Cooper OBE
Chair of CIPS UK Fellows and a former President and Chair of the Global Board of Trustees of CIPS.
Shirley is a successful business leader and entrepreneur with extensive experience gained in delivering first-class financial, commercial, and operational leadership across the Private and Public Sectors. She co-founded multi-award-winning specialist law firm, Tapestry Compliance transferring ownership of the firm to a Trust on behalf of the employees in 2020In addition, supporting many Charities and Non-Profit organisations that drive economic development and have a social impact. Shirley was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2020 for services to Women’s Empowerment, Equality and Procurement.
Previously Shirley was Global Procurement Director of Impellam plc and board advisor to Lorien Resourcing. Prior to this Procurement and Supply Chain Director of Computacenter. Before joining Computacenter Shirley held senior financial positions at Yorkshire Water, Leeds Hospitals and Carlsberg Tetley and Tetley’s, starting work at 18 with Rowntree Mackintosh in Halifax.

Debbie Sorrell
FCIPS Chartered is a commercial, procurement and supply chain professional with
many years’ experience as CPO in the global IT industry, together with
leadership roles across a range of industries and the public sector, both
operationally and as a consultant. A CIPS Fellow since 2005 she is Treasurer of
the CIPS Fellowship Committee and was Chair of the former CIPS Supply Chain
Policy Group.

Within 3 weeks of the event date - 50% refund
Within 2 weeks of the event date - no refund will be provided.
