The Royal Mint is pleased to welcome the local CIPS community from across Wales to The Royal Mint Experience in Llantrisant, Pontyclun. Established in 886, The Royal Mint is the oldest company in the UK, and for over 50 years it has been a proud member of the community in South Wales, offering industry, skills development and employment opportunities to the area.
In recent years, The Royal Mint’s Procurement Department has been rapidly evolving and it now boasts a team of over 20 employees including dedicated personnel focusing on purchasing, strategic sourcing, quality, continuous improvement and sustainability.
The purpose of this visit is to introduce CIPS community members from a range of industry sectors to the exciting work underway at The Royal Mint, to meet fellow procurement professionals and experts from across the country, and to set the foundations for future collaboration opportunities. Visitors will also get to find out more about The Royal Mint’s rich history at one of South Wales highest-rated attractions on TripAdvisor. The Royal Mint and its Procurement team look forward to seeing you there.

Lee is an experienced procurement and supply chain leader covering both private and public sectors with extensive skills and maturity in team management, contract negotiation and stakeholder management.
Stephen Pickard
Strategic Sourcing Manager, The Royal Mint
Stephen Harrison-Pickard (MCIPS) is a Strategic Sourcing Manager for The Royal Mint. The role entails developing and delivering a selection of category strategies to cover areas such as packaging and marketing. Stephen has also helped lead the organisation's Responsible Sourcing initiative by producing its first Responsible Sourcing Policy and supporting practices.
