Dr Iain Reid
Deputy Director of Business, Manchester Metropolitan.
Iain is qualified industrial engineer who’s recognised as an expert in Operational Agility, Industry 4.0, Knowledge Transfer in SMEs. He has published over 100 articles, book chapters and reports and has developed collaborative partnerships across several industry sectors and is now working with Professional Services Firms in the realms of Law Tech adoption. Prior to joining academia Iain worked in the manufacturing sector, of machine tools and capital goods. Iain’s claim to fame is that he increased a company’s turnover by £1.3M as a result of a 20min presentation on setup-time reduction!
Jamie Laid
Digital Supply Chain Analyst, vivobarefoot and Manchester Metropolitan University
Jamie Laid is currently engaged in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) as a Digital Supply Chain Analyst with vivobarefoot and Manchester Metropolitan University. His KTP goal is to revolutionize the footwear industry through 3D printing integration and optimized supply chain processes. By streamlining lead times and enhancing the customer experience, particularly in fit and feel, Jamie’s aim to reshape the industry. He is excited to contribute to the ongoing KTP collaboration, driving innovation and knowledge exchange between academia and industry. With expertise in digital supply chain management and 3D printing technologies, Jamie is dedicated to shaping the future of sports product design engineering.Delim Hussain
Innovation Partnerships Bid Developer, Manchester Met KTP Office
Delim is an integral member of the Manchester Met KTP Office, driving pre-award activities for institutional bids and working with UK and African enterprises to secure Innovate UK grants. With over 16 years of experience in industries such as Aerospace & Defense, Engineering Services, and Information Technology, Delim has worked with multinational companies, semi-government entities, and public sector organizations. He has previously led bid management and business strategy efforts and holds qualifications in Engineering, MBA, and MS.
John Willis
Programmes Manager, Manchester Metropolitan University
John leads on the design and delivery of innovation programmes for Manchester Metropolitan University. John has developed growth and investment services for a range of public and private sector clients to support businesses to start, scale and invest. He leads on the University incubation strategy and works with a range of partners to help business access University expertise.
