Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate is an independent family business, passionate about some of the finer things in life – beautiful tea rooms, handmade cakes, traditional breads, proper tea and top-quality coffee. This is your opportunity to see behind the scenes of Indirect procurement.

The team will reflect and share our experiences of recent projects such as our business wide ERP implementation, and our process for managing ethical risk in the supply chain. We will look forward to Net Zero and discuss some of the challenges this may bring to procurement teams. A great opportunity to network and meet likeminded procurement professionals, and of course there will be tea & coffee tasting! .

Pete Mullen 

Head of Central Procurement, Bettys & Taylors Group Limited

Pete has led the indirect procurement function and approach for Bettys & Taylors since first establishing it around 12 years ago. As ‘Source-to-Pay’ Workstream Owner he had overall responsibility for design and delivery of all procurement functionality in the recent ERP selection and implementation project. Prior to Bettys & Taylors Pete held procurement roles in Mars and Cameron.

Richard Glassell 

Indirect Buyer, Bettys & Taylors Group Limited

Richard joined Bettys & Taylors 6 years ago, during this time he has been involved in a wide range of Indirect areas, he currently looks after Transport, Warehousing, Fleet & Property. Richard has worked in the food industry for 10 years, prior to joining BTG he held roles at 2 Sisters Foods Group & Premier Foods 

Sam Bentley

Indirect Buyer, Bettys & Taylors Group Limited

Sam is an indirect buyer and has worked at BTG for 5 years. He was the workstream lead of a recent ERP implementation. Now, his procurement areas are co-manufacturing, couriers, print and photography as well as the lead on CI.  

Laura Matthews

Laura has worked at Bettys & Taylors since 2017 and current procurement areas include sales and marketing, merchandise, and process equipment.  She also implemented and leads our ethical risk management process..
